Laura Kunnas is a Finnish print designer and illustrator who currently lives and works in Stockholm – the capital of Sweden.

Laura ́s childhood in Finland was filled with adventures; building huts and floats, climbing in trees and just being like any other kid in a small city called Nokia. The matter that separated Laura from the other kids was her extraordinary talent of creating her own imaginative worlds where she could spend hours and hours without noticing that actually she was playing by herself.

25 years later Laura is still spending a lot of time in her own imagination world but now using that as a source of inspiration in her work. Laura interprets her colourful fantasy worlds into bizarre and exceptional prints and illustrations. Laura ́s prints are combined with illustrative elements, innovative colour combi- nations and handmade drawing techniques.

Laura ́s prints are often decorative, lush and rich in details. She wants to tell stories through her work and even her style might seem naive it can also include irony, hidden meanings and dark humor.

Her creations are being created in a small cottage by the lake close to the nature where the inspiration just floads inside. Nature is a big part of Laura ́s creativity. Flower and animal themes are often seen in her work. Her greatest muses are however cats in all colours, shapes and sizes. Laura is known as a crazy catlady even thought she doesn’t have any real cats.
